Acrobats take flight at first meet of season

The Revelstoke Acrobats just returned from their first competitive meet of the season in Burnaby, B.C. There was more than 180 athletes in attendance.

Some of the highlights were Frankie Howe bringing home gold in P2 trampoline and a bronze in tumbling; Stephanie Batke winning a silver in P4 trampoline, and Marissa Duncan held her spot in the finals to earn bronze in P3 double mini trampoline.

Just missing the medals in fourth place were Jenna Bollefer P3 trampoline, Alyssa Bollefer in the under-10 dmt, Isabella Mendonca in P1 trampoline, and Kayla Fenwick in P3 trampoline. Julia Dorrius did a good routine and just missed out on making the finals, placing 11th.

Being the first meet of the year and with a new level structure in place, there was some nervousness and surprises but all the athletes made the coaches proud and extremely happy.

They will now be working hard to perfect and polish off their routines for the next meet in Abbotsford at the end of the month. See below for a list of full results:

Chloe Suchvos: P2 12u tramp 16th; P2 12u dmt 21st

Julia Dorrius:  P1 12u tramp 11th; P1 12u dmt 14th

Isabella Mendonca: P1 12u tramp 4th; P1 12u dmt 7th

Amanda Batke: P1 12u tramp 14th; P1 12u dmt 19th

Kayla Fenwick: P3 16+ tramp 4th; P3 16+ dmt 5th
