Trans-Canada truck stop leads to cocaine seizure

Three kilograms of cocaine were seized following a truck stop on the Trans-Canada Highway on Sunday.

Revelstoke RCMP say they received a report of an erratic tractor-trailer heading eastbound on the highway just before noon on Aug. 17.

Police located the semi, pulled it over and lecture the driver about his poor driving behaviour.

Further checks led to the driver and the semi being taken off the road. They also found three kilograms of cocaine in the vehicle.

A Manitoba man was arrested and charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking. He was released with conditions and is scheduled to appear in Revelstoke court on Dec. 3, 2014.
