Crash closes Trans-Canada west of Revelstoke

The Trans-Canada Highway is closed west of Revelstoke due to a multi-vehicle accident near the Enchanted Forest on Tuesday.

The crash occurred on the Trans-Canada Highway about 30 kilometres west of Revelstoke on the Eagle River Bridge at around 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 5.

RCMP say three vehicles were involved, with several people trapped. Revelstoke Highway Rescue, BC Ambulance and the RCMP were all called to the scene, and the Ministry of Transportation and HMC Services also attended the accident.

RCMP Trans-Canada East Traffic Services has an investigator and accident reconstructionist present.

DriveBC says the highway will re-open between 5–8 p.m. An update is scheduled for 5 p.m.
