Victims of Trans-Canada crash identified

The victims of a crash on the Trans-Canada Highway west of Revelstoke on Sunday have been identified by the BC Coroners Service.

Lai Hing Wong, 74, and her husband Tang Sing Ling, 75, both of burnaby, died after crashing their minivan seven kilometres west of Revelstoke on July 20 at around 2:30 p.m.

They were heading eastbound when they lost control and and went off the highway and a hit a large dirt embankment.

Wong, who was sitting in the rear seat, died at the scene. Ling, the driver, was flown by air ambulance to Kelowna General Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries the following day.

The BC Coroners Service and RCMP Traffic Services continue to investigate the crash.

The family of the victims has asked for privacy.
