A young man from Vancouver Island attending Shambhala Music Festival died Sunday morning of a suspected drug overdose.

According to an RCMP press release, 23-year-old was transported from the festival grounds in Salmo to Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital in Trail.

The man was pronounced dead at the hospital. The B.C. Coroner's service is now investigating the cause of death.

The man had no identification on him when he arrived at hospital, but police were able to positively identify him. His name will not be released until his next of kin have been notified in Sidney, BC.
