Brief: Ministry says Begbie View Elementary will be ready for new school year
The B.C. Ministry of Education says the new Begbie View Elementary School will be ready for the first day of school, and that the project is on time and budget.
In an Aug. 8 bulletin, the ministry said the school will be ready for inspection by the end of August.
The new $15.4-million school will be able to accommodate 80 kindergarten and 250 elementary school students.
The school will also host a Neighbourhood Learning Centre (NLC) including four child-care centres as well as early-learning, literacy and health services. The school will also feature a 200-square-metre gymnastics facility that will be open to the public.
