Dangerous driving on Trans-Canada earns woman a day in Revelstoke court
A 30-year-old woman was charged with dangerous driving after being clocked travelling at 160 kilometres-per-hour on the Trans-Canada Highway on Sunday.
Revelstoke RCMP were first notified of a possible impaired driver heading westbound on the Trans-Canada east of Revelstoke.
The vehicle was stopped after it was observed passing into oncoming traffic, forcing other vehicles to drive onto the shoulder of the highway to avoid a collision.
She was near Sicamous when RCMP pulled her over after clocking her travelling at about 160 kilometres-per hour, said Staff-Sgt. Jacquie Olsen of the Revelstoke RCMP.
There were three adults and two children in the vehicle. The children were seen climbing out of the trunk into the back seat when the car was pulled over.
The driver was arrested and for dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and excessive speeding and her vehicle was impounded. She is set to appear in Revelstoke court in September.
