New Revelstoke theatre set for June 6 opening
Revelstoke's new theatre will be unveiled with an official opening on Wednesday, June 6, the Revelstoke school district announced Thursday.
George Abbott, the Minister of Education is set to attend the official opening of the 275-seat theatre.
The ceremony starts at 6:15 p.m. and attendance is by invite only.
A public open house is being scheduled for the following day, where a series of hour-long performances are being scheduled, said school board chair Alan Chell at Wednesday's meeting of the Board of Education.
The opening of the theatre was delayed when a fire destroyed the factory in Mexico where the seat cushions were being made.
