The CAC Youth Poster Prize winners

The Canadian Avalanche Centre has announced the winners of the Avalanche Awareness elementary school poster contest.

The contest is put on by the centre as part of its program to raise avalanche awareness amongst youth. The students were asked to create posters dealing with a snow safety topic such as skiing out of bounds, tree wells, wearing helmets, obeying signs, or snowmobiling.

The winning posters were chosen earlier this week and put up at Revelstoke Mountain Resort.

This year's winners are:

Kindergarten:

1 – Kasey howe, Begbie View Elementary

2 – Tobin Gill, BVE

Grades one and two:

1 – Summer Novakowski, Columbia Park Elementary

2 – Levi Eadie, CPE

Grades three and four:

1 – Stefan Spatarov, Arrow Heights Elementary

2 – Adam Carter, BVE

Grade five:

1 – Victor Wu, CPE

2 – Jordan Snider, BVE

Grades six and seven

1 – Erik Brosch, BVE

2 – Amelia Brown, AHE
